At the Lakeport Fire Protection District's board meeting on May 13, 2025, Fire Chief Patrick Reitz swore in Terry Cherney as a new director.  Mr. Cherney  who is replacing former Director Melissa Bedford who resigned earlier this year, will serve the remainder of former Director Bedford's term, which expires on January 1, 2028.
